Strike Out Retinoblastoma!

Story & photographs provided by JoAnne Malta

IMG_4272“My husband, Frank Malta, varsity baseball coach at Jackson Memorial High School in Jackson, NJ has organized a benefit baseball game annually for the past ten years in honor of our daughter, Marisa.  The Retinoblastoma Benefit  game matches up the Jackson Jaguars with another local high school team and all money raised is sent to Eye Tumor Research.  There are sponsors who donate “Strike Out Retinoblastoma” t-shirts as well as snacks and drinks to be sold at the game.  Family, friends and attendees of the game also make personal donations.  Marisa is the guest of honor who throws out the first pitch.  We hope to continue this tradition to raise money for Dr. Shields and her research.”

There are so many ways to fight for life & sight and we are very thankful for all the Malta family has done to help raise awareness and funds to beat eye cancer. To learn more about what you can do for eye cancer research visit: www.etrf.org1
